WRIGLEYVILLE — Cubs fans waited 108 years to see their club win a World Series, and they made sure to show up early Wednesday in Wrigleyville.

Game 7 has almost arrived and the bars in Wrigleyville are packed hours before the first pitch.

Two hours before the final game of the World Series is set to begin at 7:08 p.m., several Wrigleyville bars were already at capacity, with some charging covers of $50 or $100 to get in. Cubby Bear is charging $50 and Murphy's Bleachers is charging $100.

Kerry Thon grew up in Chicago and had an apartment in Lakeview for "years and years," never having a chance to see the Cubs play this far into the postseason. She moved to Maui about a year ago.

"Now that (the Cubs are) here in the World Series I had to come back," she said.

Thon was in line to pay $50 cover at Sports Corner around 4:45.

"That's nothing" she said.

Carlos Hernandez moved to NYC about 15 years ago but had to be back in Chicago to see the Cubs win the World Series. He and his wife, Tracy, have been staying with Carlos' family in suburban Sugar Grove since Saturday.

"It's fantastic, such a great atmosphere," Carlos said.

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by an entity controlled by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
