Miguel Ramirez, 23, Killed In Marquette Park Shooting, Officials Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Marquette Park left Miguel Ramirez, 23, dead on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

At 2:53 p.m., Ramirez was driving a car in the 3200 block of West 64th Street when someone walked out of a gangway and fired multiple shots, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Ramirez was hit in his head, crashed into a stop sign and flipped the car, Pacheco said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.

Ramirez, of the 5200 block of South Campbell Avenue, was pronounced dead at 6:50 p.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. an autopsy showed Ramirez was killed by a gunshot wound in his head in a homicide.

No one was in custody.
