HYDE PARK — U.S. President Barack Obama is coming to Chicago on Friday and Saturday and may cast his ballot for Hillary Clinton while in town.

The White House on Tuesday said the president will be in town on Friday for a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton and will stay for a fundraiser for Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate Tammy Duckworth.

The Duckworth fundraiser will bring Obama to Grand Crossing for the event at artist Theaster Gates’ Stony Island Arts Bank, 6760 S. Stony Island Ave.

The trip is one of Obama’s longest visits to his home since taking office and he is expected to stay at his Kenwood home on Friday and Saturday night.

In a fundraising solicitation on Monday, Obama said he would cast his ballot for Clinton in October when he’s in Chicago.

The White House did not confirm whether Obama would vote while in town on Friday, but it wouldn’t be unexpected for Obama to stop at his normal early voting site at the Martin Luther King Community Service Center, 4314 S. Cottage Grove Ave.

"With early voting having already begun in states like Iowa and Wisconsin (and getting started in Illinois), all of us who want to elect Hillary Clinton and Democrats down the ballot need to hustle as hard as we can to connect with those undecided voters before their ballots are cast," Obama said in the letter.
