IRVING PARK — Recent crime in the Albany Park and Irving Park neighborhoods — from burglary to sexual assault — has prompted community organizations to join together for an area-wide safety walk.

All residents are invited to take part in the walk, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The group will set out from Bateman Elementary, 4220 N. Richmond St., and end at Fruityland, 4610 N. Kedzie Ave., for a treat.

Participating community groups include The Residents of Irving Park, Albany Park Neighbors, Horner Park West Neighborhood Association, Irving Park Concerned Neighbors Association and People of East Albany Park.
