WICKER PARK — Looking for an excuse to go out Monday and support road tripping bartenders from Detroit?

Detroit craft cocktail bar Sugar House will be the guests of honor at a one-night-only takeover, “Breaking the House Rules," scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday - 1 a.m. Tuesday at The Violet Hour in Wicker Park.

The lounge's well-known house rules — such as no cellphones or baseball hats — will "go out the window for the evening in the spirit of collaboration and spontaneity," according to a news release.

The event will offer a cocktail menu highlighting a number of Sugar House’s cocktails served up by their head bartenders Jason Leinart and Yani Moraitis Frye.

Guests can expected to see a "Blackfoot Old Fashioned, Fool’s Gold, Room Key, Historic Brownfield Project, Fist Fight, Detective Inspector" abd "Knackery and the EFK" on the menu.

Sugar House will be the first guest for what will become a seasonal event at the lounge, 1520 N. Damen Ave, a spokeswoman said. No reservations are accepted and seating is first-come, first-served.
