CHATHAM — A man crashed his car after being shot in his leg on the Dan Ryan Expy. near 87th Street late Monday night, state police said.

At 11:25 p.m., the 26-year-old man was driving on the northbound expressway when someone shot at him multiple times from another car, according to an Illinois State Police news release.

The man then exited the highway and crashed his car near the intersection of 87th Street and Wentworth Avenue, where Chicago police and firefighters responded, police said.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a "non-life threatening injury," police said.
