NEAR WEST SIDE — The two-day music festival created by hip-hop artist Common is returning to Chicago Sept. 24-25, and J. Cole will headline, according to an announcement Tuesday.

"It's going to be amazing, and we're going to have a great time," said Common, born Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr. The Grammy and Oscar-winning South Side native said he's putting Ahh! Fest on for the community.

The first day of the fest, open to fans of all ages, runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature Tink and Taylor Bennett. Attendees also will see performances by other local talent, who will give it their all for a chance to perform on the main stage Sept. 25.

The second day of the fest, for fans 18 or older, runs from 3-10 p.m. and will be hosted by Chicago actor/comedian Deon Cole. Performers will include Common, fellow Chicago natives Jeremih and Sir the Baptist, Bilal, the Roots, The Internet and more.

Tickets for both days can be purchased online here. The fest will be in Union Park, 1501 W. Randolph St.

The festival supports Donda’s House and the Common Ground Foundation. The inaugural fest was held in 2014.

"It was such a great day, and it made me proud to be from Chicago and proud to bring this to Chicago," Common said. "The performances were great, and this year we’re looking to keep it going."
