Free Museum Days Planned For CPS Kids At Adler, Field And Shedd

MUSEUM CAMPUS — Three of Chicago's leading museums are offering a free day to CPS students before they head back to school. 

Adler Planetarium, the Field Museum,and Shedd Aquarium will all be free to CPS students and an accompanying adult Aug. 29. 

The museums will also sell discounted all-access passes: $17.95 for adults and $16.95 for children aged 3 to 11 at Adler; $20 for adults, $17 for seniors, and $14 for children at the Field; and $9 for students at the Shedd. 

All Illinois residents will also get free general admission to Shedd on Aug. 29 and 30. 

Adler Planetarium is open 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the Field and Shedd are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free day is part of the city's "One Summer Chicago" youth initiative. 

CPS classes are set to resume Sept. 6.
