LINCOLN SQUARE — Eat your way around the world this weekend while sticking close to Lincoln Square.

Start your tour Friday morning at Luella's Southern Kitchen, 4609 N. Lincoln Ave., which is now open for breakfast 8-11 a.m. weekdays. Try chef Darnell Reed's take on Nashville hot chicken and waffles.

Venture further into the Deep South at Spoken, 1812 W. Montrose Ave., where the cafe will celebrate its anniversary with gumbo and po' boys as a nod to the Louisiana roots of owners Will and Sido Goodwin. Line up for gumbo — Louisiana duck and andouille sausage — at 6:30 a.m. Friday, with po'boys available at 10:30 a.m.

Ixcateco Grill, 3402 W. Montrose Ave., is also throwing an anniversary party — its first. Chef Anselmo Ramirez' take on Mexican cuisine earned Ixcateco a place on Chicago magazine's best new restaurant list. He's featuring customer favorites on a special menu available through Sunday, plus a house-made margarita mix for diners who bring their own alcohol.

Nighthawk Coffee Bar and Tavern, 4744 N. Kimball Ave., has added Brazil's national cocktail, the caipirinha, to its menu for the duration of the Rio Olympics.

Finally, plot a course for Bryn Mawr Avenue, where Chicago Korean Festival is scheduled for noon-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, between Kimball and Kedzie avenues. Enjoy Korean cuisine and culture, including a K-pop contest on Sunday.
