LAKEVIEW — We've got the No. 11 bus back — let's make sure it sticks around.

That's the message 11 Lincoln Avenue businesses are promoting in August with a special neighborhood promotion.

Bars and eateries from Lincoln Park to Lincoln Square hope the monthlong special will encourage passengers to hop on the No. 11 bus. The Lincoln Avenue route returned in June for a six-month trial period after a three-year hiatus.

With a beer explorer passport in hand, participants who visit at least five of the 11 eateries during August will be entered to win prizes. Multiple restaurants are giving away gift cards — including $100 for Bistro Champagne — but there are also T-shirts, Chicago brewery maps and a toy CTA bus among the offerings.

Supporters have also organized two special events, starting with an Aug. 11 tour "For Love Of The #11." The free event will feature an evening tour of the Irish Bistro, Northdown Cafe & Taproom and Delilah's.

A pub ride is also set for Aug. 26, but details have not been posted yet.

The No. 11 bus runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays from Howard/McCormick and the Fullerton "L" station. The buses run roughly every 20 minutes.

The bus route's advocates are eager to promote its return after a four-year fight to restore it. The CTA has set a target of 1,500 riders per day during the pilot run.

From Aug. 1-31, customers can print out the Lincoln Avenue passports and collect stamps from the 11 businesses. Passports must be submitted by Sept. 9, and winners will be notified by Sept. 16. Entries can be submitted to the four participating chambers of commerce in Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Lincoln Square and North Center.

The participating businesses, listed from south to north, are:
