CHICAGO — There's a million things we haven't done, but these lucky actors can cross "Hamilton" off their lists.

Chicago's production of the wildly popular hip hopera opens in September, and Ham fans are getting their first glimpse at who will be in the room where it happens.

Miguel Cervantes will take the titular role of founding father Alexander Hamilton, whose life story is narrated in the musical by eventual nemesis Aaron Burr. Burr's casting was not announced, and Broadway in Chicago did not immediately say why.

Cervantes most recently appeared in the Broadway production of "If/Then" as an ensemble member and understudy for the role of David.

He's also performed in Broadway's "American Idiot" — a jukebox musical based on songs by Green Day — and in the national tour of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" as Chip Tolentino.

To prepare for his Chicago debut, Cervantes will play Hamilton on Broadway July 13, 18 and 25. Javier Munoz recently took over the role in New York City following Miranda's departure July 9.

In Chicago, Tony Award-winning actress Karen Olivo will play Angelica Schuyler, the brilliant sister-in-law that keeps Hamilton in check. Olivo has ties to "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, originating the role of Vanessa in his first show, "In the Heights" both on and off Broadway.

Olivo received her first Tony Award in 2009 for her performance as Anita in the Broadway revival of "West Side Story." She has played the recurring role of Giada Cabrini in "The Good Wife" and was a series regular in "Harry's Law."

Alexander Gemignani will play King George III, a small but highly enjoyable bit character played on Broadway by Jonathan Groff of "Spring Awakening" and "Glee" fame; Andrew Rannells of "Girls" and Brian d'Arcy James, who went on to star in "Something Rotten."

Gemignani starred as Jean Valjean in the 2006 revival of "Les Miserables" and has performed in other Broadway productions "Assassins," "Sweeney Todd" and "Sunday in the Park with George."

Other principal actors include Ari Afsar as Eliza Hamilton. Afsar is a former "American Idol" contestant from season eight.

As on Broadway, several actors play two major characters: Chris Lee as the Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson; Jose Ramos as John Laurens and Phillip Hamilton; Wallace Smith as Hercules Mulligan and James Madison; and Samantha Marie Ware as Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds.

Joseph Morales will be the alternate for Cervantes.

Performances begin Sept. 27 at the PrivateBank Theatre, 18 W. Monroe St.
