Auburn Gresham Shooting Might Be Self-Inflicted, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was shot and wounded Wednesday evening in Auburn Gresham, police said.

At 5 p.m., the man was in the 600 block of West 80th Place when he was shot in the right leg, said Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokesman. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition.

The man might have shot himself, police said. He was a convicted felon and documented gang member.

No one was in custody in the shooting.
