ROSELAND — Clarence Jones, a 60-year-old man, has died weeks after being shot in Roseland, officials said.

About 2:40 p.m. June 27, Jones was sitting in front of a home in the 11400 block of South Stewart Avenue when someone shot at him from a passing car, Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman, said at the time.

Jones was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Sweeney said.

Police said the man was a documented gang member and a "recently convicted" felon.

Jones was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m. Thursday at Advocate Christ Medical Center, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. An autopsy showed Jones died of complications from a gunshot wound in his torso.

No one is in custody, Sweeney said.
