PILSEN — A 29-year-old man was shot in his leg in Pilsen early Sunday morning, police said.

Around 1:30 a.m., the man was walking near the intersection of 18th Street and Blue Island Avenue when a man walked up and shot at him, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man brought himself to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

Police said the man was a documented gang member, and the shooting appeared to be gang-related.

No one is in custody, police said.
