WEST LOOP — After four years in business, Pan-Asian restaurant Embeya is now closed.

Attila Gyulai, co-owner of the restaurant at 564 W. Randolph St. in the West Loop, said Embeya's last service was last week, according to reports by Eater and the Tribune.

After he was fired in March 2015, former Embeya chef Thai Dang sued the restaurant's partners for breach of contract. In May, Dang won the lawsuit and was awarded $102,500, according to Crain's Chicago.

An Embeya representative told the Tribune this week that the lawsuit "ruined us."

Mike Sheerin had served as executive chef of Embeya since Dang's departure.

Dang, a Jean Bachet "Rising Chef of the Year" award recipient, is opening HaiSous, a Vietnamese restaurant, at 18th and Carpenter in Pilsen this fall.
