4 Killed, 16 Wounded in Shootings Since Saturday Morning: Police

CHICAGO — Shootings across the city left four people dead and another 16 wounded between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, police said.

• A 32-year-old man was found shot to death in a car in Englewood Sunday morning.

• Two men in their 30s were found shot to death on a front porch in Washington Heights early Sunday morning.

• A 17-year-old was killed and another teen was wounded in a shooting in Back of the Yards late Saturday night.

In other non-fatal shootings:

• Most recently, around 4:10 a.m., a 30-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were walking in the 2700 block of West Wilcox Street in East Garfield Park when someone shot at them from a passing red SUV, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The woman was shot in her chest, police said, and the man was shot in his buttocks. They were both brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were listed as "stable."

• Around 3 a.m., a 25-year-old man was in his backyard in the 100 block of North Laporte Avenue in Austin when someone shot at him before fleeing, Lemmon said.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition with multiple gunshot wounds in his arms and legs, police said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• About an hour earlier, a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were walking in the 6300 block of South Artesian Avenue when a man pulled out a gun nearby and shot at them, Lemmon said.

The boy was shot in his buttocks, and the man was shot in his left leg, Lemmon said. Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where they were listed as "stable."

Around 1:45 a.m., a man, 18, was hurt in a gang-related shooting in Little Village.

• Around 11:45 p.m. Saturday night, two men, 22 and 23, were shot in the 3600 block of South Indiana Avenue in Bronzeville, according to Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The 22-year-old was shot multiple times, and the 23-year-old was shot in his left arm, Zala said. Both men were brought to Mercy Hospital, where they were listed as "stable."

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.

• About 25 minutes earlier, a 21-year-old man was driving in the 0-100 block of West 121st Street in West Pullman when someone shot at him from a passing blue car, police said.

A 25-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, sitting in another car, were also shot, police said.

The 21-year-old man was brought to Roseland Hospital with a gunshot wound in his ankle, police said.

The 25-year-old man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his leg, police said.

The boy was brought to Comer Children's Hospital with a graze wound in his head, police said.

All three people were listed in good condition, police said.

Around 10 p.m., a shooting at the Lake Shore Path near Addison Street left a 19-year-old man wounded.

• Around 8 p.m., a 20-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of West 98th Street when someone shot at him from an "older model" white car, Zala said. 

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in his left leg and a graze wound in his torso, Zala said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• Around 6 p.m., a 15-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man were standing on the sidewalk in the 4700 block of South Prairie Avenue in Bronzeville when they heard gunshots and felt pain, Zala said.

The boy ran into a business in the 200 block of East 47th Street before being taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in his left ankle, police said.

The man refused medical treatment after being shot in his buttocks, Zala said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
