NEAR WEST SIDE — Summer's official debut is right around the corner, and it will certainly feel like it as blazing 90-degree temperatures are slated to hit the city this weekend

From neighborhood festivals family-friendly fun, here are our top picks of things to do and see in the West Loop, Pilsen and Near West Side this weekend.

Pilsen Food Truck Social — The 2nd annual Pilsen fest brings more than 25 food trucks, live music and Revolution Brewing beer to the neighborhood this weekend. A $20 sampler ticket allows festival goers to try sample-sized food and beverages from any food truck on site, and also sample Revolution beer, wine and spirits. Full-sized food and beverages, including margaritas from Punch House and tamales from Dia De Los Tamales, will also be sold. Participants asked to give an optional $5 donation upon entering the fest. 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 18th Street at Allport Avenue 

Spring Awakening — Is EDM your thing? Steve Aoki, Kaskade, Zeds Dead and Deadmau5 are all slated to headline the three-day electronic dance music fest's first year at Addams/Medill Park. Single-day wristbands are still on sale for $99. Doors open at 1 p.m. Friday-Sunday, 1301 W. 14th St., University Village 

Wise Owl 1-Year Anniversary — Near West Side bar Wise Owl celebrates one year in business with live music on their expanded patio and neighboring parking lot. Over the Side is slated to perform at 9 p.m. Friday, and Johnny Alletto at 9 p.m. Saturday. Friday and Saturday nights, 324 S. Racine Ave., Near West Side

Kid-Friendly Fun Fair at Fosco Park — Ald. Danny Solis (25th) hosts his annual fun fair to celebrate a safe kickoff to summer with pony rides, a jump house, food, games, entertainment and more. Free. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, 1312 S. Racine Ave., Pilsen 

Skinner Park Garden Grand Opening — Skinner Park neighbors present a family-friendly afternoon of exhibits and activities related to gardening at the park's new Community Roots Demonstration garden. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, 1331 W. Monroe St., West Loop 

Pilsen Yard Sale  — A yard sale featuring toys, clothes and other items takes over the neighborhood Saturday. The sale benefits Pilsen's El Paseo Garden, and proceeds will go toward tools, new raised beds for the gardens and educational workshops. Free. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, 944 W. 21st St., Pilsen 

June Clean and Green — Alex Acevedo and members of Organized Hispanics Making Strides invite Pilsen neighbors to clean up 16th Street ahead of summer's official debut. Free. Meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, 1735 W. 16th St., Pilsen
