CHICAGO — It turns out Chicago, the home of the (six-time-Stanley-Cup-winning, definitely-a-dynasty, super-charitable) Blackhawks, isn't the best place to be if you're a hockey fan, according to new rankings.

The rankings from WalletHub say Chicago is just the fifth-best U.S. city for hockey fans, coming behind Detroit, Boston, Pittsburgh and New York.

The rankings took into account how teams performed, what was the lowest cost for a season ticket, what's the capacity at stadiums and how fans engage with NHL and college teams (read: how many Facebook likes and Twitter followers the teams have) in the cities it examined.

It turns out we're one of the worst cities when it comes to paying for season tickets, and the Blackhawks are only considered the fifth-best performing NHL team, according to the rankings.

It gets even worse when you're looking at which city is the best for college hockey fans: Chicago is tied for a dismal 56 out of 72 cities.

No other city from Illinois even cracked the rankings.
