CHICAGO — You might want to avoid driving Downtown for — well, for a while.

Construction will shut down several expressway ramps starting this week, with one closure lasting more than a week.

The closures:

• The ramp from the inbound Kennedy to the inbound Eisenhower has been closed between Jackson and Halsted streets and won't reopen until June 23.

• The ramp from the outbound Eisenhower to the outbound Dan Ryan will be closed 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday.

There were will be detours during the closures.

The closures are part of construction on the Jane Byrne Interchange, where a new flyover ramp is expected to open in the winter.
