EDGEWATER — Ridge Avenue, one of the North Side's busiest thoroughfares used by Downtown commuters and neighborhood residents alike, will be closed five to six weeks beginning at the end of the month.
Starting around June 22, from Bryn Mawr to Thorndale Avenues, Ridge Avenue will be closed, except for one eastbound lane dedicated to buses and emergency vehicles, while the road undergoes improvements.
The project is part of an ongoing effort to replace watermains throughout the neighborhood, with Ridge Avenue getting an updated line between Broadway and Clark.
At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and again June 16, Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) and representatives from the city's Department of Water Management will be on hand at Senn High School, 5900 N. Glenwood Ave., to answer questions and discuss the project.
