CHICAGO — A 17-year-old was in good condition after being shot in the right hand in Little Village Monday afternoon, police said.

Around 5:25 p.m., the teen was walking in the 3600 block of West 30th Street when a man shot at him from across the street, according to Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The teen brought himself to St. Anthony's Hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound in his thumb, Zala said.

Police said the teen was a self-admitted gang member.

No one was in custody, Zala said.
