CHICAGO — Chicagoans received nearly 82 million robocalls in April.

That means the Chicago area ranks in the top five for cities with the most robocalls, automated calls with a recorded message, according to data from YouMail. That's down from March, when Chicagoans received an estimated 91 million calls.

Chicago was beat out only by Atlanta (almost 98 million calls), Dallas (about 88 million calls) and New York (86 million calls) last month. YouMail predicts there will be more than 30 billion robocalls placed to U.S. phones this year.
