1 Killed, 20 Wounded In Shootings Since Saturday Morning: Police

CHICAGO — Shootings on the South and West Side left a man dead and 20 other people wounded, five critically, between Saturday and Sunday mornings, police said.

• A 26-year-old man died after being shot around 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Englewood.

• About an hour later, three other men were shot in Englewood, one of whom was critically wounded.

• Around 7 p.m., three men were wounded, one critically, after being shot in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood.

• Most recently, around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning, a 25-year-old woman was standing in the 4100 block of West Adams Street in West Garfield Park when a man walked up and shot at her, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The woman brought herself to St. Anthony's Hospital, where she was treated for gunshot wounds in her abdomen and right arm, Lemmon said. Police could not provide her condition but said she was "stable."

• At 2:45 a.m., Lemmon said, three men were standing in the 5100 block of West Madison Street in Austin when they heard gunshots and felt pain. 

One man, 35, was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, Lemmon said, where he was treated for a gunshot wound in his right elbow.

Another man, 36, was taken to Stroger Hospital with gunshot wounds in both legs, police said.

A third man, 20, was taken to West Suburban Hospital with a gunshot wound in his right foot.

All three men were "stable," police said.

• About five minutes earlier, Lemmon said, a 37-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were sitting in a car in the 3900 block of West Grenshaw Street when a man walked up and shot at them.

The woman was shot in her right thigh and her buttocks, police said, and the man was shot in his face.

They were both brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were listed as "stable," Lemmon said.

• Around 11:50 p.m. Saturday night, a 27-year-old man was walking in an alley in the 500 block of South Cicero Avenue in Austin when two people jumped out of a nearby car and shot at him, Lemmon said. 

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds in his groin and both legs. Police could not immediately provide his condition.

• Just before 10 p.m. Saturday, a 28-year-old man was standing in an alley in the 4600 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in Bronzeville when a man walked up and shot at him, police said.

The man was brought to Stroger Hospital, police said, where he was listed in serious condition with a gunshot wound in his back.

A 17-year-old, apparently a victim of the same shooting, later walked into Mercy Hospital with a gunshot wound in his foot, police said.

• Around 7:40 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 1600 block of West 89th Street in Auburn Gresham, police said. There, they found a 26-year-old woman with a gunshot wound in her head in the second floor landing of an apartment building.

The woman was brought to Advocate Christ medical Center in critical condition, police said.

• About 10 minutes earlier, a 19-year-old man was sitting in a parked car in the 11500 block of South Stewart Avenue in West Pullman when a dark-colored SUV pulled up behind him and someone inside fired shots, police said.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical center with two gunshot wounds in his back and another in his chest, police said. He was listed in critical condition.

• Around 6:15 p.m., police said, a 20-year-old man was walking westbound in the 1000 block of West 92nd Street in Washington Heights when he heard three gunshots and saw a green sedan pass by.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in his chest, police said. 

• About five minutes earlier, a 28-year-old woman was about to cross the street in the 6600 block of South Champlain Avenue in Woodlawn when she heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

The woman was brought to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said, where she was "stable" with a gunshot wound in her left leg.

• At 4:35 p.m., a 21-year-old man was standing in the 3600 block of West 13th Street in North Lawndale when someone shot at him from a passing car, police said.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said, where he was listed in critical condition with a gunshot wound in his stomach.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, police said.
