EDGEBROOK — A free concert sponsored by the Edgebrook Community Association will take place as part of the Destination Devon festival set for Saturday.

The second annual festival, which is designed to bring more shoppers to downtown Edgebrook, will take over Devon Avenue between Kinzua and Minnehaha avenues from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, organizers said.

Charles Kim, a classical guitarist and an Old Town School of Folk Music teacher, will perform from 2 to 4 p.m. in the garden of the Edgebrook branch of the Chicago Public Library, 5331 W. Devon Ave.

Free lemonade will be available at the concert, organizers said.

The festival is being organized by Everyday Edgebrook, a group that broke away from the Edgebrook Chamber of Commerce last year in an effort to breathe new life into the area around Devon and Central avenues.

Six musical acts are scheduled to play along Devon Avenue and at a celebration to cap off the fest at Moher Public House at 5310 W. Devon Ave. starting at 5 p.m. Music, food and drink specials will be available for those in attendance, organizers said.

A food corner will offer treats from Moher Public House, Edgebrook Coffee Shop, Ivy's, Mia Figlia and Villa Rosa.

In addition, businesses are set to offer specials and activities for children will be available for children, organizers said.
