HYDE PARK — A man's body was recovered from Lake Michigan at Promontory Point late Sunday morning, police said.

Around 10:30 a.m., the police Marine Unit was notified of the body floating near the 5400 block of South South Shore Drive, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The body could not be identified, police said, as it appeared to have been in the water "for some time."

A non-criminal death investigation is underway, Estrada said.
