EDGEWATER — A pop-up food market coming to the landmark Belle Shore Hotel apartments building is hoping to change the way people buy groceries.

Chicago Market, a food co-op organization made up of nearly 800 members across the North Side, is setting up shop Saturday from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at 1052 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. and featuring everything from imported foods and spices, to pies, grass-fed meat, environmentally-safe cleaning products and more.

The pop-up is meant to showcase both available retail space in the Bryn Mawr Historic District, as well as Chicago Market's concept for a community-owned grocery shopping experience.

The event is free, but shoppers are asked to RSVP.

Another pop-up in Andersonville May 21 will feature additional wares and foods.

Check out a list of Saturday's vendors:

• Metropolitan Farms

• Radical Root Farm

• Baker Miller

• Karma Kombucha
