BRONZEVILLE — A 25-year-old man died after being shot on the Near South Side Tuesday night, officials said.

Around 8:30 p.m., the man was standing in the backyard of a residence in the 600 block of East Bowen Avenue when a man shot at him from an adjacent alley, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said, where he was listed in serious condition with multiple gunshot wounds in his body.

He was pronounced dead early Wednesday morning, according to Cook County Medical Examiners. He was identified as Timothy Hill, of the 500 block of East 40th Street.

No one is in custody, Estrada said.
