1 Dead, 13 Wounded In Shootings Since Saturday, Police Say

CHICAGO — At least 14 people were wounded — one fatally — in shootings across the city since Saturday, according to police. 

Of the 14 shooting victims, the youngest is 14 and the oldest is 50, police said. The 14-year-old boy was shot after a SUV opened fire in Chatham late Friday, police said. 

The day's lone fatal shooting came at 1:20 p.m. in Woodlawn Saturday, when a 17-year-old and a 36-year-old man were shooting at each other and the 36-year-old was fatally struck.

The teen boy was injured as well, and police are expecting to charge him in the man's death, said Officer Veejay Zala, Chicago police spokesman.

In other shootings:

• Most recently, a 50-year-old man was wounded in an Austin shooting at 6:11 a.m. Sunday, police said. 

• A 24-year-old man was in Roseland at 4:10 a.m. when he was shot, police said. 

• A man and a woman, both aged 25, were shot while driving in Roseland at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, police said. 

• A 22-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were wounded in Chicago Lawn shooting at 3 a.m. Sunday, police said. 

• Sunday's first shooting came at 12:15 a.m., when a 35-year-old man was shot in the Back of the Yards, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was in the 4800 block of South Bishop Street when he was struck in his right ankle and was eventually brought to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not released but police said the man is "stable."

• A 40-year-old man was shot in his left foot while in the 7000 block of South Vernon Avenue at 8 p.m. Saturday, said Office Veejay Zala, Chicago Police spokesman. The man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital where he was listed in good condition, Zala said. 

Three men were shot in Woodlawn at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, police said.
