CHICAGO — PAWS will try to find homes for 125 puppies, kittens, cats and dogs during its annual Adopt-A-Thon this week.

The 36-hour Adopt-A-Thon starts at 11 a.m. Friday and ends at 11 p.m. Saturday at PAWS' Lincoln Park Adoption Center, 1997 N. Clybourn Ave.

"Through this event, many pets will find homes and many people will be engaged in the cause of homeless animals," according to a PAWS news release. "By rallying the community and generating more adoptions, PAWS is able to take in and save more dogs and cats from high-risk shelters."

Here are a few of the pets you can take home at the Adopt-A-Thon:

Brooklyn is a 4-year-old Boston terrier mix.

Ren, a lab mix, is just two months old.

Three-month-old Abby Cadabby is a domestic shorthair.

Acorn, a domestic shorthair, is two months old.

Rose is a domestic short hair who is three months old.

Tris is a four-month-old lab mix.
