PORTAGE PARK — A man sexually abused an 11-year-old boy who was riding his bike with friends Saturday evening in Portage Park, police said.

A group of children were riding their bikes in the 4800 block of west Cornelia Avenue near Cicero Avenue around 8 p.m. when a man grabbed the 11-year-old and touched him inappropriately, according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department.

During the assault, the man told the boy, "I thought you were my girlfriend," police said.

The man fled north on Cicero Avenue after several adults intervened to help the boy, police said.

Police said they are looking for a white man, 5-feet-9-inches, weighing 200 pounds, between age 25–30. The man is bald and has blue or hazel eyes and was wearing a black sweatshirt, yellow safety vest, jeans and black shoes, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call detectives at 312-492-3810.
