JEFFERSON PARK — Five garages in Jefferson Park and Norwood Park have been burglarized since Sunday by someone who kicked down or pried open overhead or side doors, police warned Wednesday.
The incidents happened in the:
• 5100 block of north Mason Avenue between 8 p.m. Sunday and 6:50 a.m. Monday
• 5100 block of north Mason Avenue between 8:30 p.m. Sunday and 6:50 a.m. Monday
• 5100 block of north Monitor Avenue at 9 p.m. Monday
• 5700 block of north McVicker Avenue between 8:30 a.m. Monday and 6:15 p.m. Tuesday
• 5800 block of north Moody Avenue at 4 a.m. Tuesday.
The burglar took construction tools, bicycles and lawn equipment, police said.
The first three burglaries are less than four blocks apart, while the last two are three blocks apart.
