ROGERS PARK — A police task force targeting drunk drivers in Rogers Park Saturday and Sunday gave out 109 citations to motorists, but none were for driving under the influence, police said.

Of those tickets given out, 37 were license violations, 14 were unsafe vehicle violations, 13 were insurance-related, 11 were safety belt violations, and 34 were unrelated traffic violations.

Only one car was towed then, police said.

Police checked in with drivers from 7 p.m. Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday, also looking for people speeding and not wearing seatbelts.

The DUI Strike Forces are being deployed across the city, with one scheduled for the Wicker Park and Logan Square neighborhoods this weekend.
