EDISON PARK — Police are searching for the man who robbed Happy Foods in Edison Park after threatening three female cashiers with a gun, officials said Monday.

No one was hurt in the incident that took place at 1 p.m. Friday at the grocery store at 6783 N. Northwest Highway, according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department.

Police said Monday they were looking for a white man, 25-35 years old, approximately 6-feet tall and weighing 180 pounds with brown hair.

Owner Dale Eastman said the man entered the store, showed his gun and motioned for the customers to leave.

The man took all of the money out of two cash registers manned by three cashiers, ages 22, 23 and 19, Eastman and police said.

Friday's incident was the first robbery to take place at the Edison Park Happy Foods in the 10 years Eastman has owned the store, he said.

"Everyone is upset," Eastman said. "This is a great neighborhood, and we want everyone to feel safe when they come here."
