CHICAGO — A Rogers Park man has been arrested after police found guns and drugs in his Clark Street home, according to police.

Willie Johnson, 66, was arrested after police searched his home and found two hand guns, an unspecified amount of cocaine as well as drug packaging equipment and some stolen property, police said in a news release.

Police searched Johnson's home in the 6400 block of North Clark Street on Wednesday and arrested him after finding the guns and drugs.

Late Wednesday night around 11:30 p.m. the Chicago Police Department tweeted, "Live: Search warrant being executed in the 024th District targeting guns and drugs."

At 11:49 p.m., police tweeted again and said two guns had been recovered in the 6400 block of North Clark Street — the same block as Rogers Park Police District headquarters, which sits at 6464 N. Clark St.

The 6400 block of North Clark Street runs from Clark and Devon north to the police station. Next to the station is the Gerber/Hart Library at 6500 N. Clark St.

A photo included with the tweet also shows ammunition, drugs, secret containers, and a police badge.

Johnson has been charged with six felonies stemming from the search, including one felony count of cocaine possession and two felony counts of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He has also been charged with two misdemeanors for drug paraphernalia possession and possession of stolen property.

Johnson was due to make his first court appearance on Friday.
