RAVENSWOOD — Here's a conundrum: For people who work in the theater, the only opportunity to catch a live performance is their night off — Monday — but that's when every other theater is shuttered.

Eats and Sweets co-owner Margaret McCall, who also holds down a full-time gig as box office supervisor for the Writers' Theatre in Glencoe, came up with a solution: Dark Night Live, a bi-weekly live podcast hosted at the bakery/cafe on, you guessed it, Mondays.

Shows run 7:30-8:30 p.m. and generally feature storytellers riffing on a theme.

Tonight's performance is a bit of deviation, with a scheduled panel discussion on unpaid internships in the theater.

The suggested cost of admission is a cup of coffee, with the cafe's barista and bakery open during the taping, 1636 W. Montrose Ave.
