UPTOWN — JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound have rocked stages with their "enveloping stage presence and palpable charisma," according to Rolling Stone.
The band's genre-bending sound, which has been categorized as everything from neo-soul to punk to indie rock, has landed them on stages at Lollapalooza and SXSW.
At 8 p.m. April 9, the band will bring that eclectic sound to the Preston Bradley Center at 941 W. Lawrence Ave. for a free performance — if you RSVP here, a news release for the event said.
The performance is the kickoff to the second season of Uptown Saturday Nights. From April to October, Uptown Saturday Nights provides free concerts to venues in the Uptown Entertainment District, the release said.
