WEST LOOP — A new luxury apartment building near Skinner Park, Target and Whitney Young Magnet Academy is now leasing in the West Loop.

Jackson Throop Place, a new 93-unit apartment building at 1241-1245 W. Jackson Blvd., is welcoming its first residents.

The four-story building features one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with open floor plans, 10-foot ceilings, gourmet kitchens, bamboo hardwood floors and high-end finishes. The apartments range from 885 to 1,324 square feet, according to a company spokesman.

A one-bedroom, one-bathroom, 885-square-foot unit with balcony and rooftop access is now renting for $2,500; a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,010-square-foot unit is renting for $2,700; a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,230-square-foot unit is renting for $3,200; and a three-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,324-square-foot unit is renting for $3,500 a month.

Each apartment also comes with an assigned parking space in the building's heated garage and private outdoor balconies. Fourth-floor units also feature a semi-private rooftop deck.

Aaron Galvin, owner of Luxury Living Chicago Realty, the leasing broker, said the building's developer focused on a high-end experience inside the apartments.

“Our research shows not all renters want to pay for a host of amenities they will rarely use. Instead, they prefer to have a more thoughtfully designed home with top-of-the-line finishes they’ll use on a daily basis," Galvin said.

The building was developed by Michigan Avenue Real Estate Group, the firm that is also developing the former Carmichael's site in the West Loop.
