CHICAGO — Two people were killed and another seven were wounded in citywide shootings on the South and West Sides between Friday morning and Saturday morning, police said.

Most recently, a 25-year-old woman was fatally shot when she tried to break up a fight between two men at an Austin house party, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Earlier Saturday morning, a 24-year-old man was found shot to death in Back of the Yards, Sedevic said.

One man died, and two others were injured, after an early morning shooting in West Lawn, police said.

Two men were shot and wounded while driving in Bridgeport late Friday night, Sedevic said.

• In the most recent non-fatal shooting, around 2:10 a.m. Saturday morning, a 24-year-old man was sitting in a car in the 500 block of South Lavergne Avenue in Austin when a tan Chevrolet Impala pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Loretto Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in his knee, Sedevic said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• Around 5 p.m. Friday, a 32-year-old man was walking in the 3100 block of West 64th Street when he stopped to argue with a man sitting in a car, Sedevic said. The man in the car then shot him in his buttocks.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition, Sedevic said.
