ENGLEWOOD — Pastor Dwayne Grant of Xperience Church will offer "Ashes to Go" on Wednesday outside the 63rd and Wentworth Red Line stop.
Grant calls this a "quick and convenient" way to celebrate Ash Wednesday. He'll offer ashes and prayer from 7-9 a.m. at the train station in Englewood.
“Having it at the CTA stop is in a place where it’s visible, where people will be coming and going early in the morning," Grant said. "It’s an effort to meet people where they are. It’s about going out into the streets and sharing it with people.”
Grant said this can be an opportunity for people to learn more about Ash Wednesday.
“It’s providing an opportunity for education and prayer and connection,” Grant said. “People are welcome to stay and have a conversation.”
He has office hours every Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kusanya Café, 825 W. 69th St. Grant will have ashes there.
