CHICAGO — Eight people have been wounded in shootings since Wednesday, police said.

• Most recently, at 5 a.m. Thursday, a 37-year-old man was shot in Uptown, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was driving in the 900 block of West Winona Street when two men approached him and shot at him.

The man was hit in his chest, arm and hand, Pacheco said. He took himself to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he was in serious condition.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 2:20 a.m., an 18-year-old woman was shot on the Dan Ryan Expy., according to a State Police news release. The woman was in a car when she got into an argument with people in another car near 79th Street and Lafayette.

The woman drove down the 79th Street ramp to the Dan Ryan and were followed by the other car, police said. At least one person in the other car fired at the woman multiple times before speeding off and getting off the expressway.

The woman was treated at Little Company of Mary Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

No other information was immediately available.

• At 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, a 29-year-old man was shot in Englewood, Pacheco said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 6200 block of South Stewart Avenue when someone attempted to rob him. The man was shot in his upper right back and right hand during the robbery.

The man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital and transferred to Stroger Hospital. He was in "stable" condition, Pacheco said.

The robber ran away with a bag of food items the victim had bought earlier, Pacheco said.

• At 11:03 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, Pacheco said. The man was leaving a home in the 3000 block of West Madison Street when he ran into someone in an alley. The other person took out a gun and shot at the man.

The man was hit in his right shoulder and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Pacheco said.

• At 9:06 p.m., a 38-year-old man was shot in Humboldt Park, Pacheco said. The man was driving when he noticed a car following him. He stopped at the mouth of an alley in the 1600 block of North Albany Avenue and someone in the car fired at the man multiple times, hitting him.

The man was shot in his left hand and was taken to Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital, Pacheco said. He was in good condition.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 8:50 p.m., a 58-year-old man was shot in Chicago Lawn, Pacheco said. The man was standing in the doorway to his home in the 6400 block of South Claremont Avenue when his teenage son ran away from gang members and ran inside their house. Someone opened fire on his son, and the man was shot in right leg.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Pacheco said.

• At 8:44 p.m., a 32-year-old man was shot in Portage Park, Pacheco said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 4300 block of North Lavergne Avenue when a dark-colored SUV drove past and someone inside the car fired shots.

The man was hit in his right arm and taken to Community First Medical Center, where he was in "stable" condition, Pacheco said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 5:45 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Uptown, Pacheco said. The man was walking in the 900 block of West Agatite Avenue when he saw a man shoot at him.

The man was hit in his stomach and taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, Pacheco said.

The man is a documented gang member.

No one was in custody in these incidents.
