EDGEBROOK — Planning is underway for a farmers market to take place in downtown Edgebrook this summer, organizers said.

Volunteers are needed to help organize the market, which will be sponsored by Everyday Edgebrook, which is working to bring more shoppers to the area around Devon and Central avenues, organizers said.

Three organizational meetings will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and Feb. 2 and Feb. 22, organizers said.

A survey conducted by the group this fall found that most Edgebrook residents want the market to take place weekly on Saturday mornings.

Three potential locations identified in the survey for the market are the Metra Station parking lot on Kinzua Avenue, the parking lot at Edgebrook Lutheran Church on Devon Avenue and the Edgebrook Elementary School parking lot on Central Avenue.
