WEST TOWN —  A boxer/bulldog mix named Ariel, available for adoption through One Tail at a Time, was Ask Nagel's January "Rescue of the Month" star kicking off what the West Town real estate firm says will be a yearlong effort to help homeless dogs.

But if you were hoping to adopt Ariel, who was residing at the One Tail at a Time no-kill shelter in Bucktown, she has already found owners, according to her PetFinder profile.

Beginning on Jan. 1, Ariel's photo was displayed on a digital screen in the window of Ask Nagel Realty, 1919 W. Division St., part of a yearlong effort launched by owner Greg Nagel, who says his firm plans to donate 10 percent of commissions to One Tail at a Time during 2016.

An independent West Town-based real estate firm that employs seven agents, Ask Nagel has teamed up with One Tail at a Time have "to help to save homeless dogs through a unique real estate referral program," Nagel said.

Nagel says his company will donate 10 percent of its commissions for all real estate transactions in 2016 referred either through a dedicated web page or by mentioning "One Tail at a Time" when talking with an agent.

On Dec. 22 Ask Nagel gave a $3,500 donation to One Tail at a Time on behalf of their clients in lieu of more traditional holiday gifts.

"At Ask Nagel, we're dedicated to helping people find their dream homes, and we wanted to extend that to our canine friends as well," Nagel said, adding, "We're also hopeful that, in addition to raising money, we can leverage Ask Nagel's social media and marketing channels to play an active role in finding loving homes for many of these dogs."
