CHICAGO — Two men were shot to death and six other people were wounded, including famed drill rapper King Louie, between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning, police said.

The two men were shot in separate incidents less than a half-mile away from each other in Austin, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

King Louie, whose real name is Louie Johnson, Jr., was reportedly "awake and talking" after being shot in his head in Ashburn Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

• In the most recent shooting, around 4:50 a.m. Thursday, a 29-year-old man was shot in his thigh in the 9200 block of South Union Avenue in Washington Heights, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Sedevic said.

Police could not immediately provide any other information about the shooting.

• Around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday night, a 25-year-old man was walking in the 10300 block of South Forest Avenue in Roseland when a man walked up and announced a robbery at gunpoint, Sedevic said.

The man tried to disarm the robber and was shot in his left hand, Sedevic said.

He was brought to Roseland Hospital, where his condition was "stable," Sedevic said.

• At 2:41 p.m., a 19-year-old man was standing in the 100 block of South Homan Avenue in East Garfield Park when a man shot at him from a passing car, Sedevic said.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in his ankle, Sedevic said.

• Around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, a 42-year-old man was standing in the 8600 block of South Morgan Street in Auburn Gresham when someone shot at him from a passing car, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for a gunshot wound in his neck, Sedevic said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member, and they believe the incident was gang-related.
