LAKEVIEW — The menu at seafood restaurant Fish Bar is getting a New Orleans-style makeover.

Beginning Dec. 16, Fish Bar, 2956 N. Sheffield Ave., will offer a bunch of new dishes inspired by founding chef Michael Kornick's time in New Orleans.

“We want to give our guests a reason to venture out on cold Chicago nights and a New Orleans-inspired menu is just the ticket,” Kornick said in a statement.

Expect oysters Rockefeller with spinach, Pernod and bechamel, spicy crab remoulade served with toast, Creole oyster stew, shrimp and crawfish etoufee, blackened redfish and pecan catfish on the new menu. For dessert, the seafood restaurant will serve pecan pie and chocolate creme brulee bread pudding with bourbon caramel sauce.

Kornick worked for The Windsor Court Hotel, the Late Great Paul Prudhomme and at Emeril Lagasse's restaurant while in New Orleans.
