THE LOOP — Local "Star Wars" fans who struck out on opening night tickets for "The Force Awakens" will find a new hope later this month. 

AMC Theatres, which will open its newest cinema at the Block 37 mall in time for the new "Star Wars" flick, is set to announce information on the theater's ticket sales for the sci-fi blockbuster Dec. 15. 

The 11-screen cinema atop the Loop mall, 108 N. State St., is a so-called "dine-in" theater with power recliner chairs allowing guests to order from a full menu without leaving their seats.

It will also offer a new round of tickets for the opening weekend of "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" long after many other Downtown theaters are have sold out.

The menu, according to AMC's website, ranges from $12 burgers and $16 chicken baskets to $8 appetizers including crab-and-avocado sushi rolls and crispy brussels sprouts. 

"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" will premiere Dec. 17 across the AMC chain.
