EDGEWATER — A Loyola University student was sexually assaulted while walking near the school's alumni building and student housing late Saturday night, according to a campus safety alert from Loyola Police.

Around 10:30 p.m., after the woman had left the Granville Red Line station, she walked eastbound on Granville Avenue before heading northbound on Winthrop Avenue. Between the student housing buildings and the alumni house, the woman was "inappropriately groped twice" by an unknown man.

While the victim ran northbound toward Regis Hall, the man fled westbound on Sheridan Road. No arrests have been made, police said.

The man is described as having a dark complexion, between the ages of 30 and 40, and with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a white hat, dark jacket, light gray pants, and white Nike gym shoes, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Loyola police at 773-508-6039 or the Chicago Police Department at 312-744-8263.
