ASHBURN — Small business owners selling everything from jewelry to drinks will gather Dec. 12 for a shopping event open to the community.

The "Winter Pink-mas Shopping Bash" is organized by LuKesha Tate, founder and CEO of the Better Sister Growth Network. The Washington Heights resident is also the owner of Dreamland Daycare Learning Center.

The shopping event will take place from 5-8 p.m. at 2543 W. 79th St. and will feature refreshments, music and networking. Some of the products include a maternity line, plus-size clothing for women and tutus for babies. There will be a jewelry and handbag vendor, a herbal tea business, desserts and more.

In the past, Tate’s organization has fed the homeless, organized back-to-school giveaways and hosted cancer awareness and domestic violence awareness events. Tate said this year she wanted to do something a little different.

“I just wanted to help give back,” she said. “Why not bring vendors in and let them receive money during the holidays for their families.”
