NORTH CENTER — Brownstone Tavern closed on Monday with a promise to reopen Wednesday under "new management," which turns out to be Adam Sherman, owner of Lakeview's Newport Bar and Grill.

Sherman bought Brownstone, 3937 N. Lincoln Ave., from the Four Corners Tavern Group and has wasted no time in announcing changes.

Chef Alberto Torres (Bangers & Lace) was recruited to "revive" the menu and add "elevated bar bites," according to a statement.

A sneak peek of Torres' dinner menu was posted to Brownstone's Facebook page. We spotted a number of newcomers: the introduction of a "burger bar," a brisket sandwich and brisket black bean chili, and a peanut butter and jelly ice cream sandwich, among others.

Brownstone's new appetizer options include battered pickle spears and loaded baked potato chips.

Sherman announced that he also plans to increase the focus on unique craft beers and to launch an expanded weekend brunch with a Bloody Mary bar.

As for Brownstone's 14 TVs? Not going anywhere, possibly increasing in number.
