DOWNTOWN — If three's a trend, table tennis is all the rage now Downtown.

Bounce Ping Pong, a London import, will open this spring at 230 N. Clark St., according to a company spokeswoman. The opening date and menus are still being determined, but the club will feature "superior quality" food and drinks, in addition to plenty of table tennis.

"We look forward to sharing more details on the concept and design very soon," the spokeswoman said.

Once open, Bounce will be competing against two other table tennis clubs within a few blocks: SPiN, a New York chain owned by actress Susan Sarandon, will open this winter at Marina City, 300 N. State St. Killerspin, another club, opened two years ago at 135 S. LaSalle St. The Chicago club is the third, and first outside England, for Bounce.

Pricing is still being determined, but an hour of table tennis costs £19.50 ($29.49) per hour during the "peak" period from 6 p.m. to close Monday through Saturday at Bounce's London clubs. The menu includes pizza, canapés and other fare.
