CHICAGO — Gun violence claimed the lives of three people Sunday and wounded seven more, according to police.

A 19-year-old man was killed in an Englewood shooting late Sunday, police said. Another Englewood shooting claimed the life of a 20-year-old man after he was shot in his head while in his car, police said.

A 35-year-old man was fatally shot in Austin Sunday night, police said.

• The most recent, non-fatal shooting happened Sunday night in West Garfield Park. A 26-year-old man was sitting in a car in the 4500 block of West Maypole Avenue at 8 p.m. when another car pulled up, someone exited and opened fire, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was struck in his left arm and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

• A 18-year-old woman was shot in Gage Park Sunday evening, Estrada said. The woman was walking with a man in the 5300 block of South Sacramento Avenue around 5:40 p.m. when a car pulled up, Estrada said.

Words were exchanged between the two parties and someone inside the car fired at the woman and man, Estrada said. The woman was shot in her mouth and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Estrada said.

The woman did not appear to be the intended target, Estrada said. The target was the man she was with, who is a documented gang member, police said.

• Four people were injured in a North Lawndale shooting Sunday afternoon, Estrada said. The group was standing in the 4100 block of West Roosevelt Road at 1:25 p.m. when someone walked up and fired shots, Estrada said.

A 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were both shot in the hip and were both taken to Stroger Hospital in "stable" condition, Estrada said.

A 24-year-old man was shot in the left side and foot and was taken to Stroger Hospital in "stable" condition, Estrada said. A 25-year-old woman was shot in both legs and was taken to Stroger Hospital in "stable" condition, Estrada said.

The three men are documented gang members, according to police.

• A 42-year-old man was wounded in an Auburn Gresham shooting Sunday afternoon, Estrada said. He was in the 7800 block of South Lowe Avenue at 12:52 p.m. when a man flashed a handgun and announced a robbery, Estrada said.

The man tried to flee but was shot in his leg, Estrada said, while the shooter got off with the man's wallet. He drove his car to the 7800 block of South Halsted Street where he called police, Estrada said.

The man was then taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was listed in good condition, Estrada said.
